Therapy for Latter-day Saint Adults
I am an LDS therapist.
I can understand where you’re coming from,
help you overcome challenges,
and live your best life.
I’m a therapist. I work with people of all faiths-or none-but I specialize in helping adult Latter-day Saints deal with anxiety, and depression, and generally rise above past and present challenges.
So if you’re LDS, too, whether “all in” or “on the fence,” let’s talk.
With me as your therapist, you can speak confidentially. I know where you’re coming from in the context of our shared LDS culture.
Here’s a question for you: Why do so many Latter-day Saints silently try to deal with anxiety, depression, marital and family problems, insomnia, panic attacks, worry, perfectionism, OCD, addictive behaviors, or any of the rest, all on their own, holding it all inside, and smiling and say they’re fine when they’re not?
Same reason most people do.
Shame. Stigma. And because they don’t know the truth:
Mental health problems—like physical health problems— can happen to anyone, including good people in and out of the Church.
And with treatment, people get better!
Trauma and abuse, too, can happen to anyone, too, including Latter-day Saints. If you’re a survivor of trauma or abuse, I can help you using my other specialty, too: EMDR Therapy
Maybe it’s not the past, but now that is hard.
Are your kids “not turning out” the way you hoped they would? Do you ever wonder what did I do wrong?
Maybe your marriage is seriously not okay,
or you’re going through a divorce?
Often we must face a scary medical diagnosis….
Or the death of a loved one…
Therapy can help you find peace, even when life is so much harder than you ever expected.
Some, especially, women, come to me exhausted and starting to burn out from trying to “do all the things” they think they need to do to live the Gospel.
Together we can help you connect how you’re living your life with what’s important to you: your own anchoring convictions.
Or maybe you’re just not that active in the Church these days—or your loved ones aren’t--and that feels so hard!
With LGBTQ+ issues, politics, COVID, -and so many opinions and so much tension in the air…
If those dearest to you—or if you, yourself,—are doubting or stepping away from the Church, how do you cope with the angst you feel? How can you keep a loving connection?
I will take the time to know YOU individually and stand beside you as you find YOUR way.
I believe the Lord will also help you with this or any challenge you may face in life if you turn to Him.
But I also respect your right to choose what you believe and how you live your life.
No matter what rough road you may be traveling, you don’t have to go it alone.
Let me bring my skills to help you overcome challenges, and live your best life. We can get through this together!
Especially if stress is keeping you awake at night, and making it hard to function during the day, please don’t wait—
Reach out!
